A comprehensive 100 page report on Islamophobia in Australia covering the period of 2014-2016 was launched on Monday 10 July in Melbourne and on Tuesday 11 July in Sydney.
The Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation at Charles Sturt University has released its latest report, “Islamophobia in Australia.” The report captures and critically analyses data collected by the Islamophobia Register of Australia reflecting Australian Muslims’ lived Islamophobic experiences.
The United Patriots Front and Reclaim Australia believe that Islam in general is the most dangerous problem Australia has and will ever face. Both these campaigns strive to rid and eradicate Muslims from Australia, claiming to only want back the same land and culture they grew up in.
In 2016, an Essential Report found that 49% of Australians supported a ban on Muslim immigration to Australia. Another poll by the Australian National University found that 71% of Australians were concerned about the rise of Islamic extremism locally.
